Via dei Tribunali runs directly over the aqueduct, and San Gregorio Armeno is one street away. Coming up from an hour underground onto the street you have just walked beneath is what you will remember, and you only get it if somebody walks you along both.
You get a guide underground either way. What a walking tour adds is the same person connecting the quarry chambers to the palazzo built out of them, so you hear one continuous story rather than two visits.

Your departure will be at 08.30 or 10.00, which in summer is the difference between a pleasant walk and an endurance test.
